This is a collection of long exposure photographs of wildflowers in the wind. These were made near Kandersteg, Switzerland at the peak of the wildflower bloom in 2022.
The movement of the bright flower petals painted the scenes with color while the camera shutter was open. The yellow flowers are mainly Meadow Buttercup (Ranunculus acris). The pink flowers are mainly Red Campion (Silene diocia). The white flowers are mainly Hairy Chervil (Chaerophyllum hirsutum). The Hairy Chervil was the most expressive because it was the tallest and the wind whipped it strongly.

I spent a long time sitting in the middle of the flowers composing different scenes and waiting for the strongest wind gusts. The photographs take on the appearance of paintings because of the elongated patches of color from the moving flowers which resemble brush strokes. This is entirely from the movement of the flowers during the long exposures, not from photo editing or alterations.
